Like most Americans, people with special powers also celebrate Thanksgiving. Don’t worry, though, their Thanksgivings are just a dramatic and chaotic as us regular folks’. In the episode aptly titled “Thanksgiving”, we get to celebrate three different character’s Thanksgivings. Two of the three stories were pretty unexceptional, with only a couple of juicy bits, while the third had massive potential and some truly great moments. Unfortunately, it simply didn’t deliver well.

Even though I still felt as though there wasn’t that much action, I have to admit that I did rather enjoy “Bother’s Keeper”. The pace is perfect, and both key plot developments and certain revelations had a huge impact. I know I’m not the only one who’s been annoyed at the series’ unwillingness to show us the big back story to Samuel Sullivan, but the wait was worth every single minute! The whole Sylar/Nathan affair also found a turning point, and it was not only a very intense moment, it was also perfectly executed.

Quite unfortunately for some, Samuel discovers just how incredibly powerful he can become, and decides to take very dangerous extremes in order to achieve his full potential. Excitingly, the battle between Sylar and Matt continues! Elsewhere, Tracy’s control over he ability seems to be slipping away, and one of her clan is put in a dangerous path.

I’m really starting to get annoyed with the serious lack of action in this season of Heroes. Character development is nice, but come on! Too much is too much and the story needs to pick up the pace! We’re eight episodes in, now. While the story had quite a couple of opportunities for action, it fell short when problems were solved with words rather than fists.

Claire, who is absolutely determined to solve the Sorority Rush attacks on her own, finds H.R.G. trying to intervene as usual. He quickly realizes that he might very well be the cause of all of her troubles. Peter realizes that his latest ability makes him a perfect fit at his new job, and is able to help Emma with accepting her new life. Excitingly, Sylar is continuing the escalating battle to gain complete control over Matt’s body, risking very hazardous implications in the process.

A quick bit of advice – never screw with the space-time continuum. It simply does not ever do well. But our Hiro, determined to undo the death of his former love, attempts to alter the past without causing damage to the entire history of the world as they know it. As a summary, it sounds nice. A pure love story of love lost with the chance to redeem it.
